At Buckner Prosthetics and Orthotics we pride ourselves in providing the highest quality of patient care. Part of this is to have staff that is trained at the highest possible level. Our office, practitioners and technical staff are ABC certified. The American Board of Certification (ABC) represents the highest level of training and excelled education in the prosthetic and orthotic field.
Zachary Myrick, CPO
Zach is certified in both orthotics and prosthetics through the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics. He graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science before attending a post graduate Orthotic and Prosthetic program in Southern California. He gained valuable experience as an Orthotic Resident in Fresno, California and diversified his experience in Birmingham, Alabama during his Prosthetic residency. Zach is certified in major lower extremity technologies in the O&P industry and has lectured on various O&P topics to university students and health care providers. He is particularly proud of his craftsmanship and enjoys providing the personal care that each case at Buckner Orthotic and Prosthetic Labs requires.
Stephen “Fin” Singleton, CP
Fin is certified in prosthetics through the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi. He then attended a post graduate program at Chicago’s Northwestern University for Prosthetics and performed his prosthetic residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Fin has engaged in research that tested the benefits of vacuum suspension for lower extremity prosthetic systems. He is trained in the latest in prosthetic technology and takes great pride in each and every prosthetic fitting. Fin enjoys helping individuals overcome physical limitations and is committed to being an encouragement to all who enter the doors at Buckner Orthotic and Prosthetic Labs.
Joseph Azzarello, CPO
Joseph graduated with a Bioengineering degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and went on to complete a Master's of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics (MSPO) at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He completed his residency with Buckner Prosthetics in Jackson and now manages the Hattiesburg office. He is an ABC certified prosthetist who enjoys providing individuals a means to meet their goals through the latest in prosthetic and orthotic care.
Richard Boleware, BSIE, CP
Richard is an American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics Certified Prosthetist who graduated with an Industrial Engineering degree from Louisiana State University. He brings to Buckner Orthotic and Prosthetic Labs 25 years of progressive health care administration experience. Richard was the state’s first I-limb certified practitioner. He is Otto Bock certified and has been proficient at fitting microprocessor knees such as Genium, C-leg, RHEO, Plié®, and BIOM, since the inception of these knees over 15 years ago. His upper extremity knowledge includes: Dynamic Arm, Utah Arm, Michelangelo and I-limb myoelectric systems. His passion for technology has been experienced by all his patients. Richard loves hearing his patients share their hunting and fishing stories.
Rick Psonak, MS, CPO, FAAOP
Rick received his training in Orthotics & Prosthetics at the University of Washington (Seattle, WA., 1985). Rick is certified in both Orthotics and Prosthetics by the American Board for Certification (ABC). He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthotists & Prosthetists. He Chaired the Lower Limb Society of The Academy and is a member of the Upper Limb Society. He is a residency director and served two terms as a Commissioner for the National Commission for Orthotics and Prosthetics Education (NCOPE, 1996-2002). Rick has authored and co-authored chapters in text books and journal articles on upper and lower extremity prosthetics. He is a sought after lecturer and conference speaker on various Orthotics and Prosthetics topics. He specializes in microprocessor technology. He is well known for his proficiency in designing sockets to be used in conjunction with various advanced technologies such as: C-leg/Genium Knees, BIOM feet, Utah Arm, Dynamic Arm, as well as Michelangelo and I-limb hands.
Ben Jameson, CPO Resident
Originally from West Point, MS, Ben graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in Kinesiology in 2015. After working as a Prosthetic Technician in Memphis, TN for a year and a half, he gained admittance into University of Pittsburgh’s Master’s program for Prosthetics and Orthotics in 2017. Ben began his two year residency with Buckner Prosthetics in 2018. Growing up in West Point, Ben spent many summers on the family farm where he developed a knack for working with my hands. This field gives me the opportunity to utilize my handiwork to create devices that can positively impact someone's life.
We have a full-time office staff. They will answer any questions you have about paperwork, insurance or scheduling.
We also have a full technician team at Buckner Prosthetics. Vanessa Scarborough is our shop manager and is in charge of making sure each patient's device is handcrafted in a timely manner. Pete, Cal, Tripp, and Dan spend their days fabricating custom projects that meet the individual needs of our patients. We take great pride in knowing that our patients' devices were built in our state of the art fabrication facility by Buckner trained team members. Please come by for a tour of the facility anytime.
